Thunderbird 1 (TakaraTomy Tomica)

Thunderbirds are Go! I recently got into collecting the Japanese Thunderbirds toys because I love me some Thunderbirds and I found most of them for an excellent price. I decided to start with Thunderbird 1 appropriately enough.

It's a pretty basic little die cast rocket plane with a flight stand. Small but exactly what I wanted, reminiscent of the Matchbox toys I had back in the 90's.

Torox Predaking Titan Class Figure (Power of the Primes)

Torox (originally Tantrum) transforms into a bull and a leg for Predaking. He's a bit of a brick with a ginormous backpack in robot mode but still fun.

I love the orange, yellow, and red colour scheme of the Predacons and Torox has a nice balance of colours. The yellow face really pops from the red bull head.

Aquaman (DC Icons)

Arthur Curry is the King of the Seven Seas, Aquaman! I have been an Aquaman fan since I was a kid. I loved to swim, I had the Super Powers Aquaman figure and a VHS tape of episodes from the 60's Aquaman cartoon.

Aquaman is an example of my affinity for the less popular characters. Though it's hard to say that a character headlining his own blockbuster film is less popular anymore. I have a bunch of Aquaman figures, more than those featured here and here, but I didn't have a good "classic" Aquaman so after some resisting I finally broke down and scooped him up.

This guy is basically the Super Powers figure with better articulation and accessories. Although his "trident" (I know it has more than 3 points) is virtually identical to the long lost one that came with my 80's Aquaman. The real clincher for me was including the little clear plastic "telepathy" accessory that pegs into the alternate head. It's awesome.

Shocker (Marvel Legends Series)

Herman Schulz is an early post-Ditko Spider-Man villain called the Shocker. It was the sixties. His gauntlets produce powerful shockwaves and his quilted suit protects him from their vibrations. Shocker has been a lower tier villain for a long time but his profile was raised when he was part of the Sinister Six team that appeared in "The Superior Foes of Spider-Man" which was a great comic. Keep an eye out for more of those lovable villains in the future.
