Zatanna - B:TAS (DC Collectibles)

When Bruce Wayne was in training to become Batman he studied under the great stage magician Zatara to learn the art of escapology. Using the alias "John Smith" he caught the eye of Zatara's daughter Zatanna which was all revealed in the excellent episode that bears her name. I feel like a broken record when talking about this line of figures because as usual Zatanna looks like she stepped off the screen but she can't really stay upright without her stand. She comes with her wand/cane, some alternate hands and the signed poster from the end of the episode. Zatanna is a regular stage magician in this episode and so her costume makes sense on that level. Every so often someone tries to give her a more "superheroic" costume but she inevitably reverts back to something resembling her original costume from 1964.

"I wear a bow tie now, bow ties are cool!"

Tiniest coattails ever.

Not ideal superhero footwear.

That's gotta hurt.

I don't think that's part of the trick.

"Arbadakarba!"

Not quite a "Wonder Woman" spin...

The "Awww" factor just went up.

Zatanna's lack of reach, combined with Mad Hatter's ridiculous grin...

...made this sequence less the action packed knock-out punch I'd been hoping for.

"I've got the weirdest feeling we've met before."
"I... just have that kind of face."

Zatanna and her lovely assistant... Batman!

"Ta-da!"

  1. Yeah, these Timmverse figures are an awesome likeness but dang it's too bad they can't always stand unassisted.
