Collection Corner

Ok it's a new year and time for a new series of blog posts. In addition to eating cheese and drinking tea I also have a fairly substantial action figure collection and I finally decided to bite the bullet and share it with the world (or at least the subset of the world that happens to stumble upon this blog).

In past posts I've talked about my love of "genre" fiction which just might be the worst name ever. My pop culture interests tend to reside in the sci-fi/fantasy/super-hero milieu and such is my collection.

I'm just going to randomly post pictures of the various displays around my house. As the seasons or my moods change I rearrange my shelves and will start sharing new pics when that occurs. (I have become one of those nerds whose collection has indeed outstripped his living space but I have an understanding and wonderful spouse)

Without further ado I give you the first installment of "Collection Corner" or "Sharing Shelves" if you like.

This is my cabinet of curious collectibles which lives in the corner of my living room
Apologies for the lighting, I didn't think this post through very well, the rest of the pictures were taken earlier in the day
L-R we have an Astro Boy I got in Okinawa I think, Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Voyager Class Predaking, and Kamen Rider Wizard DX Yellow Kraken PlaMonster

The PlaMonster's tentacles spin when you push its nose and the Kraken Wizard Ring is removable but too small for my manly grown-up fingers. Next we have Transformers Generations Voyager Class Blitzwing sporting one of his Transformers Animated faces, and finally Funko's Legacy Collection Rocketeer action figure who's displayed in the box because I couldn't successfully swap the heads.
Top shelf is a mélange of mostly Western characters. Some of the figures are hard to see way in the back but I'm apparently just going with it for this post.

Marvel Legends Infinite Dr. Strange (post "Fear Itself" costume), Giant-Man, Spider-Man 2099, Star Wars Back Series 6" Captain Phasma, NECA Reel Toys Robocop (rocket launcher version)

Marvel Legends Infinite Spider-Girl, Scarlet Spider, and Superior Spider-Man, Star Wars Black Series First Order Snow Trooper Officer
DC Collectibles Batman: TAS Batman, Jazwares Space Ghost, Some Star Wars Rebels we'll discuss later

NECA Video Game Batman, DC Collectibles B:TAS Phantasm, DC Icons Green Arrow's head and arm, SIC Kamen Rider Wizard Flame Style

Masters of the Universe Classics Buzzsaw Hordak & Galactic Protector She-Ra sandwiching B:TAS Robin, NECA Flame-thrower Robocop peeking out behind She-Ra's sword, DC Direct Brightest Day Firestorm

Star Wars Rebels Spotlight: 14 year old Princess Leia, Captain Rex, Ezra Bridger, Sabine Wren, Kanan Jarrus, The Grand Inquisitor, Fifth Brother Inquisitor (whose legs are obscuring Space Ghost's monkey pal Blip)

A better view of Green Arrow in his "Longbow Hunters" costume, plus Kylo Ren in the foreground
A terrible shot of Factory Entertainment's 1960's Green Hornet and Kato. These guys are more like statues with moveable arms than actually action figures.

A better look at the ridiculously delicious colour scheme on that 1989 Movie version of Batman

Next shelf started out as my epic Kaiju battle but some other folks crashed the party.
Hasbro's Animated Guardians of the Galaxy: Gamora, Groot, Drax, Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon & Baby Groot; SH MonsterArts MOGUERA's head, Marvel Legends Infinite Nick Fury w/Dirk Anger head, Star Wars Black Series Imperial Hovertank Pilot (from Rogue One), SH MonsterArts Gamera
A better view of Moguera, Dirk Anger, and Gamera, along with the Super X-3 plane from the SH MonsterArts Toho Machine Set 2

SH MonsterArts SpaceGodzilla with lightning breath effect part, SH Figuarts Ultraman Suit 7.2 (from the ULTRAMAN Manga), NECA Pacific Rim Crimson Typhoon
Masters of the Universe Classics Sea Hawk, the rest of the maser tanks and maser cannons from the Toho Machine Set, another angle of manga Ultraseven, SpaceGodzilla, and Crimson Typhoon
Shelf Three has a robotic theme
Towering over: Power Rangers Thunder Megazord (or Gosei Gattai Dairen'oh from Dairanger)
Down in front: Super Robot Chogokin Getter-1 & God Raideen; GN-U DOU Galactic Whirlwind Sasuraiger, Star Wars Black Series Jango Fett, SH Figuarts Skydain
Beside Skydain her brother SH Figuarts Groundain, fellow Figuarts Kyojuu Tokusou Juspion, Juukou B-Fighter Reddle and in the back Transformers Platinum Edition Weaponizer Ultra Magnus
Reddle is next to Kamen Rider Gaim Arms Change Kamen Rider Zangetsu (Melon Arms), and also from SHF Juukou B-Fighter G-Stag who came as with Reddle as a two-pack. Looming logically is Transformers Masterpiece Shockwave (or Destron Laserwave as his box said)
SRC Mazinger Z, SHF Winspector Fire, SHF Ultraman (manga version) whose Specium Beam pose is obscuring Revoltech Yamaguchi Enkidu from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

A true masterpiece Transformers Masterpiece Star Saber, a better view of G-Stag taking on Mazinger Z (take that compatible scales), and a slightly better look at Enkidu in his chest-faced glory.

Well this post seems to have gone on long enough, pictures take up more room than I'd anticipated so I think I'll sign off for now and give the lower shelves their own post.
